Design Office

We gained our experience in Designing Material Handling Equipment in co-operation and guidance from MAN of Germany.

Our Design Office is equipped with the following:

A: Journey from Drawing Board to Computers.

  1. WMI designs for cranes were prepared at Bhandup Works on large size design boards of A0 size covered with tracings by special ink pens. Editing as and when required was done with the help of blades by scratching and removing the ink marks on tracing paper.
  2. Around 1992 WMI introduced computers in office activities and office works was carried on packages like word and excel. Shortly custom made integrated packages was introduced for purchase, store, shop, accounts etc. Keeping pace with the demand, Design Office at Kolkata was also opened.
  3. Around 1995 Design Office work was shifted to computers with Autocad Release 12 package. With the introduction of new updated releases from time to time, we also adopted Autocad release 14, Autocad 2000, Autocad 2004 etc.
  4. We introduced SolidWorks 3D modeling (Professional 2007) and SolidWorks 3D Finite Element Analysis (Premium 2007) packages in bulk quantity realizing the need of the hour to produce quality drawings coupled with optimum use of material.
  5. We are at evaluation stage for packages like “eplan”  for producing  Electrical drawings with integrated bill of materials.
